Linah Jebii Kilimo, EGH is the Chief Administrative Secretary, State Departments for Gender at the Ministry of Public Service and Gender.

For two years Hon Kilimo served as the chairperson of the Street Families Rehabilitation Trust Fund (SFRTF) a fund that aims to have a country free of street families through rehabilitation and public education on street families’ issues.

In the Government of Kenya, Linah has previously served as an Assistant Minister for Cooperatives Development and Marketing from 2008 to 2013, having earlier served as minister of State, Office of the Vice President between 2003 -2005. She later served as Minister of immigration and Registration of Persons while serving as MP for Marakwet East constituency from 2002 to 2012.

During her tenure as a Member of Parliament, she was Chairperson of the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA). As an ardent advocate for the elimination of female genital mutilation, Linah was instrumental in the enactment of the prohibition of FGM act 2011.

In 2013 she was appointed by his Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta to start the Kenya Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Board to co-ordinate public awareness programmes against the practice of female genital mutilation. This position accorded her high visibility and unprecedented opportunity to devote her extraordinary talents and experience to the eliminate violation of human rights against women and girls in the country.

Linah Jebii Kilimo has won several awards including “The Outstanding Women Leadership Award” that she received on 9th December 2015 for her work on FGM campaigns.

She has an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Esther mallet International Bible University in Norwalk, California, Bachelor’s degree in counselling and a Diploma in control and management of HIV/ AIDS from Kenyatta university and an accredited mediator of the high court of Kenya.

Kilimo is a trained and accredited Mediator of the High Court of Kenya.
